Big Sky - Big God

In September I attended the Big Sky Retreat in Big Sky, Montana. With a group of 120 I experienced the beauty of the outdoors, the ski slope, good conversations, sunrises and a trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

Sunrise-
My room faced the east. Having just returned from Japan I wasn't sure what time zone I was on, however I was wide awake for the sunrise. There was a great period of anticipation as the dark moved to brightness. It was hard to tell from behind which peak the sun would come. Finally it appeared and it took my breath away.

Smells from the Pines-
Not every day was sun-full. Big Sky lodge is at 7500 feet. The peak is at 11500 feet. It rained Tuesday. After dark, while walking, I was overcome by the strong pine scent. Small breezes came down the mountain and with it came whiffs, full and complete smells of pine. Stronger than a freshly cut Christmas tree, the pockets of pine smell are something I will never forget. Masked by darkness there was no telling where or when the smell would come from. The Divine appears in so many ways. I was priviledged to witness it through the Pines.

This trip has been one of my most profound and connecting experiences. More to come.
Peace & Blessings-
